Many conflicts are being ignored in Africa and Middle East right now.

First of all, great read! Very informative.

Is colonialism's shadow still cast over the DRC? And what's so democratic about it? I suppose the appellation is irony?

We can talk about Leopold II, Lumumba's tragic assassination, Mobutu, Kabila and divisions all day... however, one despot is removed and another moves in, one opposition movement appears, another disappears. All under the watch of elements in certain industrialized nations. It's like pop-up stores. And my intention isn't to make light of it. It seems to me the problem goes beyond geopolitics, history and worldly matters. I think the land is spiritually cursed and tethered to bloodlust, greed and exploitation by the first world. Of course, implemented by a handful, and blindly executed by many, who are all spiritually broken. Only Christ can pull them out of this one. Not the UN, the U.S., European Union, Belgium or any coalition of African nations... It's come to that in the DRC. A true Heart of Darkness.
